Want to get your child interested in sustainability and to develop an understanding of what it means for our planet? Then My Green Home is a “must-see” for you and your child. Visit a modern style South Florida home which now sits to the right of the entrance to our Kidscape Village entrance in the Museum. My Green Home features renewable energy technologies such as solar panels and a wind turbine on its roof. An introductory graphic panel introduces the concept of energy and why it is important to conserve and use alternative and efficient technologies in our homes. The home features a variety of these technologies and emphasizes how changing some of one’s habits at home can also be an important way to conserve energy. The exhibit’s interactive components allow children a “hands-on” approach to learning important lessons on efficient energy.
